photoblog image Panning/gninnap

One of my many attempts at panning where I achieved the opposite of the desired effect i.e the buildings were meant to have the motion blur. Still looks cool I think.

E Etomi: tongue
hey e,

i am glad that it had the opposite effect because i really like the details of the houses, i.e, the clothes hanging, the windows, the different patterns in the rails. i don't know what that red thing is in the foreground, but it is pretty cool looking.
E Etomi: Thanks Nicole. Its a lady in traditional wear and her son

I haven't done much with panning so I expect that's probably better than what I would get. It's actually rather interesting.
E Etomi: Don't knock your cpabilities till you try it smile

etomi i like it. I am beginning to think that it is the shutter/sensor on the lower end canon digital slrs. I have nothing to base this on of course but i use a 300d and struggle to take a good panning shot. probably my poor technique. My film Minolta had a predictive autofous so it would see an object go across a certain path and assume it was going to end up in a certain spot and adjust the focus towards that area. I have been thinking i need to go back and use it again. I still like the shot though. it doesn't give you the same sense of movement that your bus shot had.
E Etomi: Thanks Nev! It is difficult to maser. I guess you win some, u lose some. Luckily this isn't too bad.
wow! cool shot!
i need to practice this panning technique. grin
thumbs up!
E Etomi: Thanks Antonio
I can understand why you wanted the buildings to be panned. Well it didnt turn out bad al the same. LOL..Etomi Well done.
E Etomi: Thanks Manuel.

This pix reflects some of the ramshackle houses in Ebute-Ero Idumota

Definitely I think so...................................
