I think I would be quite frightened with these in my room lol.

These marks are carved forseveral reasons depending on what region of Nigeria they come from. From research on the internet....They can either recall the power and glory of an ancestor, possibly a high priest, war hero, or royal person or represents a charm for protection, blessings, power...too numerous to mention.

LOL at Ada. I know some people who collect these, Etomi. But they would scare my grandson on my wall, I'm sure. smile What a great collection!

re: suby's comment, you could've alternatively gotten away with a wider aperture
E Etomi: My lens isn't that wide and I didn't like look of the picture on the widest apperture.
Very neat picture. Big brothers are looking at me!

I've always been facinated by this kind of masks - your pic has got me thinking...what does these look like in colour... smile
