Going to work on my experimental shots. Tried skin smoothening on this. What methods do yu guys use. I duplicated this layer, then smothened the layer below using the dropper and painting that layer one colour, then I worked on the blending of the two layers after 'merging visible' in the layers menu.

Etomi dear, I believe you should direct this question to Alakija, you know he is the King of all Doctors. All the same its a nice pic. I think I do catch a glimpse of what you where trying to bring to light. I love your spirit and determination, keep it up.
E Etomi: Thanks Manuel...smile
E Etomi: Thanks Jide, I'll be sure to check it out.

why a slap U ask? understand Ur camera, ur exif data is showing U shot at a third of a sec, course U'll get camera shake with a blurry image. ERRRRRRRRRRRRR bad idea, understand shutterspeed and aperture. From where I am sitting U have beautiful skin sis, why smoothen it? nice idea, not well executed.
sorry for the photo slap but I had to hand one out today, wait a minute why am I apologising? I am the enforcer, feel the force of my photo pimp slap SLAP!!!
E Etomi: Hi enforcer, not my face..just trying to get the technique right. Thanks
Ah technical is not my best quality ;-)
Very good question, i look forward for response in order to learn also. The link of Alakija isn't working for me.
About the shot : I like the way you take a little part wich gives a real interrest to the expression.
Another desperate question for a french guy (I mean with poor english) what does mean "Slap", think it is not very cool (i'm proud to have got my first one few days ago) but this damned dictionnary is unable to translate - LOL ! smile
E Etomi: Slap is the same as "giflez son visage" using babel fish translator. Hope its cloes enough...

Nice crop!(Maybe I would have cropped out the little piece of her left eye that is still showing).
Something mysterious about the girl!
Works well !
E Etomi: Thanks Sidney!

Personally I prefer post-processing like in the darkroom, thus not photoshopping anything beyond RAW conversion. I'd work on the shutter speed, I think it suffers from camera shake and subject blur. Try going uup in ISO, if you have the light available I'd try stopping to f/5.6 to get focus from the eyewhimpers to the eye.
E Etomi: Thanks Nik, will work on the shots.
Hey Etomi,
Finally! A question i know something about.. For skin smoothing, especially this close up.. I'd use a plugin called Kodak DigitalGEM Airbrush Pro. It will do an amazing job smoothing out skin tones, but it will keep the details (just adjust the 'blend with origional' setting to suit your taste). Then go in with the heal/clone tools and do any little touchups where you need them... If you have a wacom tablet you should be able to do this quite quickly, but anything this close up will take a fair bit of work to get 'clean' usualy. That said, you did a damn fine job smile

E Etomi: Thanks VV. I'll try and get the plug in but check out tomorrows pic using Jide's tutorial and tell me what you think.
