photoblog image Blossom

Blossom

This was taken a while ago. The flower isn't so perfect but what is? I loved the shades of yellow and pink and took the pic through one of the holes on the wall fencing the house. The same type of wall seperated the neighbours house from ours, so as kids we would play together even with the walls as barriers and we would pass things through the holes like pepper for our 'meals' we were cooking with sand and leaves. We were such good cooks :)

Nice framing.
Though you might want to try using the spot metering mode and point the camera at the flower, to reduce the blown highlights.
Any particular reason why you used shutter priority?
E Etomi: I didn't do anything oh. It was automatic all through.

Interesting use of framing, and a great idea, but I agree it is a little too intrusive. I think just a minor crop would really help this one.
E Etomi: Thanks Laurie.
I like this picture. Its a very creative shot.
E Etomi: Thanks foofiee
I see what Deji means, but I think you got away with it in this shot. I also like the intrusive nature of the shot. And no, the little feather in my shot yesterday was not intentional!
E Etomi: I thot so. Good eye!
Aww seems like you had a lovely childhood. Interesting shot thought. I personally would have burnt out the highlights on the wall and not even put a blur on it as it's really not the focus of the shot, it's kinda distracting.
E Etomi: Thanks, will try that too.
Heheh, sand and leaves..yummmmaaayyyy....with pepper...mmmm

Even thought the wall is a tad distracting i still like the idea..It looks good E..

Dont cook much no eh?
E Etomi: Lol, yum yum! I tell you it was the best food

I could never get enough of "sand and leaves" growing up, especially when it was very hot & spicy !! Unfortunately didn't get the chance to cook some for myself, that would have been just too much !

I like the concept of the picture.
I dont know if this was even possible but i would have loved to see ALL of the flower in the frame.

I agree that there is too much fence in the picture.
E Etomi: Thanks for the constructive comments!
